5 Healthy Snacks That Will Satisfy That Sweet Tooth


1.    Hummus
YUM! This is one of my favorite snacks. I often eat hummus with some veggies or some wheat crackers. Hummus is so delicious and is high in healthy fats and proteins. The possibilities with hummus are endless!

Hummus: 70 calories; 5 g fat; 2 g protein; 1 g fiber

2.    Banana with peanut butter
Simple but delicious! I love eating this when I am in a rush. Just be sure to not go overboard with the peanut butter because it has a higher fat content.
Banana:110 calories; 27 g carbs; 1 g protein; 20% DV Vit B12

Peanut Butter: 94 calories; 8 g fat; 3 g sugar; 8 g protein

3.    Greek yogurt with fruit 
I love this combination! There’s just something about fruit in with my yogurt. Sometimes I will spice it up and add a little honey too (not too much!!)

Greek Yogurt: 100 cals; 6 g carbs; 6 g sugar; 17g protein

4.    Oven-dried strawberries
Strawberries are my favorite fruit!! Dried fruit is the best natural candy. This is such an easy was to satisfy that sweet tooth. For this all that’s is needed is some strawberries and a tiny amount of sugar. Sprinkle the sugar on the strawberries and bake at 185 F for an hour. SO GOOD!

Strawberries (1 cup): 47 cals; 11 g carbs; 7 g sugar; 1 g protein
½ Tbsp sugar: 48 cals; 6 g sugar

5.    Peanut Butter Energy Bites
These are very simple to make and are just SO good! These bites have 5 ingredients and are no bake. 
Ingredients:  ½ cup flax seeds
                     2/3 cup peanut butter
                      1 cup old fashioned oats
2     tablespoons honey
1.    Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir. 
2.    Put in the refrigerator for 15 minutes
3.    Roll into bite size balls and store in the fridge
Bites: 120 cals; 8 g fat; 9 g carbs; 5 g sugar; 2 g fiber; 5 g protein
